Parents

Parents are vital to the success of the Berlin Center program. We want parents to feel a part of their child’s daily experiences. We commit to parents that we are nurturing, teaching, and creating a safe environment for their child. We assure parents that their children are in good hands.

In August of each year we host a required parent orientation. Current changes and new information are given at this time as well as an opportunity for parents to meet one another.

 

After Montessori

Parents often wonder how their child will handle the transition from Montessori to a more traditional learning environment. Follow up studies have indicated that Montessori children have little or no trouble with the transition. Because they have had experiences with multi age groups, they have learned patience, compassion, mentoring, and cooperation. They make friends easily, have a balanced outlook on life, and are good problem solvers. They study because they love to learn rather than for getting a grade. They become leaders and responsible citizens wherever they are.

Parent Involvement

(We reserve the first several months of the school year to get our program underway and teach children our rules and expectations. When we have created the environment we need, we open the doors to a variety of ways for parent involvement. )

  • Observing and helping in the classroom

  • Being a resource on any subject or describing your career
